Leverage the Microsoft WinGet repository to effortlessly install and update third-party applications. This feature is now available together with many other exciting new features in the RMM 2.0 release.
A new web browser-based Connect application makes connecting to a remote computer even easier and faster.
With the new WEBRTC protocol, the connection quality has greatly improved, resulting in an overall improvement in performance. Additionally, it allowed the user to connect to a remote computer open in a separate browser tab.
The Beta version has a few limitations, such as not having a black screen or not being able to transfer files. Those options can always be accessed from the desktop application if they are important to you.
To begin the web-browser remote session, click the Connect button on the Remote management page or the RMM side panel of the desired computer.
The complexity of this feature led MSP360 to release a light version of SNMP monitoring.
Click the SNMP button on the RMM side panel of the machine you want to discover the devices on to begin the SNMP discovery process.
SNMP device pages display general information about network devices, such as their IP address, name, type, and status.
Once you click the device name, a side panel will appear with the device's OID list. There is a limitation to the number of OID details that can be displayed in the beta version.
Patch management has been made even easier with MSP360 RMM 1.5 thanks to a new RMM policy for Windows updates.
In addition to automating patch installations and setting update schedules, it is now possible to exclude unwanted updates, postpone patch installation, and specify when to reboot the remote computer. An RMM policy configured for a specific company will be automatically applied to every new computer added to that company, ensuring that Windows updates are installed automatically.
MSP30 is excited to announce a good news for Linux users. We have added support for Linux devices in version 1.5 of RMM.
You can now monitor the performance of your Linux devices from the MBS console and receive alerts if anything goes wrong.
Check the Downloads section to find different options for installing the RMM agent for Linux, from a direct link to download the build to a bush script for installing the agent on Linux.
Currently, RMM for Linux supports the following Linux systems:
The beta version provides basic information for monitoring the critical performance parameters, process and daemon management, software uninstallation, alerting and much more.
Check out the help section for more information on the features supported by the first RMM for Linux version.
Now all the notifications that you receive are saved and can be viewed at any time on the RMM Alerts History page. As in the notifications themselves, the alert type, the status, the message, the computer, the company to which it belongs, and the date are displayed.
Another equally important update in version 1.4 is a Script Library. On this page, you can either use ready-made scripts from the library or add your own script to the script repository.
Overall, the following script categories are available:
Once you have scheduled a task, you can manage it from the Group Action Tasks page. Here you can view all scheduled tasks, together with their type, status, and who created them. You can also delete or run a task right now if your plans have changed.
When you click on a task, a window appears with a report showing which computers the task has already been completed on, and which have yet to execute it. You can also download this report.
MSP360 RMM version 1.4 introduces scheduled RMM tasks, designed to simplify and increase the efficiency of IT administrators' work. Tasks are recurring group actions that can be executed multiple times on a group of selected computers with the set-and-forget principle.
Click the New Group Action Task in the RMM Group Actions menu to create a task.
You can schedule the following tasks:
RMM group actions can now have three types of execution:
No Schedule (run manually)
Creates a group action that will not be executed immediately, but needs to be run manually.
Run Once
This creates a group action that is executed immediately on all online computers selected. If a computer is offline at the time of the task execution, it is assigned a pending state and the action is executed as soon as the computer comes online.
Specific Date
Allows you to create a recurring task that starts according to a specific schedule. The system executes the task based on the local time at the endpoint.
From now on, you don't have to wait until your computer is online to manually execute a PowerShell script, run a Windows update, or install/uninstall a program. All you have to do is create a task in the RMM Group Actions wizard and the system will take care of the rest.
MSP360 is excited to introduce the long-awaited and much-requested support for macOS endpoints. Currently, we support three macOS versions in MSP360 RMM 1.4: Big Sur 11.0, Monterey 12.0, and Catalina 10.15.
From the Remote Management page, you can monitor the performance of macOS computers, such as disk space, CPU, and memory consumption. Colored indicators give you a clear idea of the health of your devices.
Detailed information regarding the health and performance of macOS computers is provided in the following sections:
Summary
Starting from version 1.3, MSP360 RMM gets to a new level by adding even more automation of daily administrative tasks and helping IT administrators to keep track of important changes on the clients’ computers. We're excited to introduce such features as software and Windows Updates deployment, new alerts, and reports that will simplify tech engineers' daily routines and give them fewer things to worry about.
Windows Updates Deployment
The automated Windows Updates Deployment enables you to choose and install patches on multiple desktops and servers at a time. Starting from version 1.3, there is no need to go through all the computers one by one to check for available Windows Updates. Using the RMM Group Action wizard on the Computers, Remote Management page, you can scan the operating system on a group of computers to identify available updates and install them in bulk.
Centralized Software Management
For effective software management on the clients' desktops and servers, MSP360 RMM starting from version 1.3 allows applications to be deployed or uninstalled on a group of computers in just a few clicks. To do this, open the RMM Group Action wizard on the Remote Management page and choose the Install software or Uninstall software option. To learn more on centralized software management, read our help article.
Scheduled Reports
Version 1.3 also comes with the scheduled reports feature to simplify monitoring the computers under management. You can configure and schedule automated reports to distribute to specified email addresses. Each report can be exported in CSV format as well. Currently, the following reports are available:
Software inventory report
The software inventory report enables you to collect information about all the software installed on the specified computers and get it in a structured way, in either HTML or CSV format.
Computer inventory report
The computer inventory report makes it possible to take inventory of the computers of the selected company and represent this information in HTML and CSV formats for further processing. It provides such information as platform type, computer manufacturer, processor and memory information, operating system, language settings, and time zone.
Software details report
The software details report contains a detailed list of the software installed on the computers of the selected company.
UI Improvements
We're constantly working to make MSP360 easy to work with and, with the new version, we're happy to introduce upgrades to the following RMM sections:
General tab
New commands like Connect, Run PowerShell, and Copy Link, along with indicators for computer performance placed in the General section, make version 1.3 more user-friendly, and simplify the monitoring of all the crucial parameters on each device.
Starting from RMM version 1.3, it is now possible to disable the monitoring of a specific computer to prevent getting alerts from it while it is undergoing maintenance.
Computer info tab
Computer details can be found under the Computer Info tab and include such information as last logged-in user, serial number, platform type, model, and much more. All these details now can be exported to a CSV file.
RMM Alerts
Get new alerts about changes in the software and hardware inventory on a monitored computer, as well as about CPU critical temperature.
CPU Temperature > 80°C (176°F) for 5 Minutes.
The CPU temperature alert sends an email to specific emails when the CPU temperature becomes critical and remains in this state for 5 minutes.
Software Changes.
The software changes alert lets you track all employees' activity on any endpoint and get notifications about any application being installed or removed from a computer.
Hardware Changes.
With the hardware changes alert, you will be notified of any changes that happen in the hardware inventory without the need to constantly monitor that computer for hardware problems.
